Breaking Barriers: Acknowledging the Resilience of and Potential for Women in Sport and Beyond

BREAKING BARRIERS

ACKNOWLEDGING THE RESILIENCE OF AND POTENTIAL FOR WOMEN IN SPORT AND BEYOND

BY RAHEEL MANJI IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MISSION ELITE FOUNDATION

To our women of the future and men of the past,

I am proud to be the CEO of Mission Elite, a company that supports and oversees many of this sport's participants and leaders for both men and women.

Prior to my role at Mission Elite, I had the good fortune of being a member of multiple NCAA Men's Power 5 Teams and to experience life for many years on the Men’s Professional Tour. During my time on tour, I traveled to over 40 nations, where I have seen both privilege and disadvantage and had the chance to discuss those sights with...

How to Mentally Break Your Tennis Opponent

In this weeks video from Mission Elite and CEO Raheel Manji, we go over the importance of understanding the traits you must have in order to be able to mentally break your opponent.

#1 SHOW NO WEAKNESS

It doesn't matter what part of the match you are in, you are not allowed to show anything to your opponent. Your opponent is constantly looking over the net to see signals that they have an edge in the match and that they are affecting you. Emotionally, you cannot allow this to happen. Every complaint, sigh, burst of anger, shows your opponent that they are gaining on you, or worse, in control of the match.

#2 WHEN THEY ARE DOWN, SHOW YOUR TEETH

If they look weak, defeated, on the verge of giving up, you have to realize...

Raheel Manji's Top 10 Quarterly Books (January 1, 2022- March 31, 2022)

As many of you know, I have a strong passion for books. I often say that when I left the NCAA and went back on the Professional tour, books were my head coach. I relied heavily on them to provide me with perspective, guidance, ideas, and overall knowledge. My love of books served me plenty as a tennis player but has especially helped me as a person and in my aspirations with Mission Elite.

We at Mission Elite believe heavily in the power of taking time to learn in each and every position of the company. It is something when developing schedules we make sure to specifically cement in our days.

I take it one step further by reading, listening, thinking, writing, and discussing learned topics even in my spare...

Tennis Tip #1 : Think deeply about the end result you want out of life.

You should think deeply about the end result you want out of life. Because if you got through life blindly, don't be surprised if, sooner or later, you smash into a wall.

Ask yourself, "If I keep consistently doing the things I have consistently done, where will I end up?". Then ask yourself, "Where do I want to end up?".

It's also essential, I might add, that you do everything you can to not get the answer to those questions wrong.

Felix Auger Aliassime vs Lorenzo Musetti Matchup

FAA vs. Lorenzo Musetti:

Set the tone for the future and conquer the higher ground.

One of the most well-known military strategies is the importance of conquering the high ground. This high ground was the most valuable piece of terrain to which one could protect themselves, develop their strengths, and then proceed on accomplishing their missions.

Today, I believe we will see two of the world's youngest top players fighting for their own form of higher ground. Today, #9, Felix Auger- Aliassime has taken on #83, Lorenzo Musetti, in the 2nd round of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000.

Now I've had the pleasure of knowing and competing against Felix, so let me tell you. Felix doesn't just have a great physical base for...

Why Taylor Fritz beat Lucas Catarina

It's one thing to get up as the underdog; it's another thing to close the favorite out. This morning I got a message letting me know that World No.430, Lucas Catarina, was up on No. 13 and recent Indian Wells Champion, Taylor Fritz, at the Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo.

It seemed to be breaking news, but as I got off a meeting to check the final score, noticing that Taylor Fritz did indeed come through in the end, I wondered why? Why was everyone in the tennis world making such a commotion of Catarina winning the first set and almost winning the match? If you ask me, the final score is a pretty anticlimactic ending to all the hype.

I have witnessed countless experiences throughout my tennis life where the underdog gets up on...

Let me tell you a storyā€¦

Let me tell you a story… I’m a 17-year-old freshman at Indiana running here beside my teammate and one of our mentors at Mission Elite, Daniel Bednarczyk.

Every Saturday early morning, we used to run 5 miles at the cross country course. The gold standard was to run it in 28:30. The place you finished in relation to your team equaled the number of 800’s under 2:40 with a 4-minute rest in between, which you’d have to do as punishment the next day.

So, as usual, we line up, and I typically tend to finish around the middle of the pack of my team in this race. Today though, something's different, and I’m feeling it…so is Danny. We fricken busted it! Inspired running at its finest!

I ran my best time...

Mission Elite Tennis University Gifts Full Scholarship to Shounak Rafael Fernandes

Aspiring Indian tennis pro, Shounak Rafael Fernandes, and his father reached out to Mission Elite very interested to start a class with the company's Tennis University program. It was clear from the beginning that the Mumbai-born, 10-year-old was committed to his craft by showing an outgoing eagerness to learn and a huge passion for the game of tennis. Despite his young age, Fernandes was already very knowledgeable as to the dedication needed to reach every level on the path to become an ATP-level player. The Mission Elite staff were very impressed.

Upon getting to know Shounak further, we learned he experienced a personal tragedy and was using tennis as an outlet to help him face his...
